Decoupaged Rose Box

Indeed black is beautiful. Having black as a background to any design makes the colors pop out.

Here’s an easy step to decoupage a plain kraft box.

Craft Supplies Needed:

Square cardboard box
Black acrylic paint
Mod Podge or Elmer’s glue (watered down)
Flower Cut outs
Sealer and Varnish

Procedure:

Paint the entire box with black acrylic paint. Two coats will be enough. Let dry between coats.

Apply generous amount of decoupage medium to the box where your designs will be attached. Plan how your design would look like and start adhering the flower cut outs Use your fingers, craft stick or chopstick to smoothen the lumps. Make sure to get rid of all the bubbles.

Brush another layer of medium on top of the images. Let dry.

Glaze with at least five coats of varnish to seal.

You may line the inside with paper or red felt.
